Open Boxes Full of a Cooks Treasure

Open Boxes Full of a Cooks Treasure

Hello Everyone,

Today is December 30, 2018 and I have officialy started my project! After working on the site for at least an hour I opened 8 boxes and my office looked like a bomb went off. My poor husband who is recovering from a stomach bug walked in, turned, and made a hasty retreat. I think he might have rolled his eyes or muttered something at the door but I wasn’t really paying attention. Back to the boxes!!! So today was spent separating books and recipes that where on note cards, paper, thank you cards, letters, and any other kind paper that you could imagine. What is amazing though, I found a recipe on a yellowed paper that is 1/2 English and 1/2 in another language that I have yet to be determine. I also found a recipe that appeared to be done in with a fountain pen and ink; this one is so old the paper literally crumbles. All of this things made me laugh and cry reading all the little notes or seeing where my Grandmother had folded pages, bookmarked, circled, underlined, and left little notes. The office floor now has stacks and stacks lined up against the wall to be picked though. You really could say this project has enough content it might go on for years . Also, today I picked my first recipe for the site; I really wanted it to be an amazing thing that made you drool, but in the end it is quite simple and will be sent to my husbands work for a late in the season Holliday party. Well I am signing off now, but before I do I want to thank you for reading my blog and sharing my journey. Here is a disclaimer too, I am not the best writer so I apologize for my grammar in advance.

Happy cooking,

Michelle
